Channelers are people who pretend that they receive ’communications’ from off-planet extraterrestrials or ultradimensionals. Usually they do this for money and recognition. They are exactly like the local spiritualist church where some old man or woman (usually) pretend to talk to ’the dead’- and most of the channelers learnt their ’craft’ from the spiritualists.
Just now there are countless stupid people who are waiting to see if a certain Blossom Goodchild’s latest publicity stunt will work out. She says she has received ’communications’ from some extraterrestrial group that today there will be a incontrovertible mass sighting somewhere on the planent Earth which will last for three days. Needless to say her transcripts are a mess of incoherent, inconsistent rubbish.
I have had a look on the net and the number of people who are waiting for ’something’ to happen is startling- usually they are younger people without too much education in these matters (and probably in others too).
Alot of people seem to have a hard time cognizing the possibility that these channelers do what they do for money-making purposes. "She seems so sincere..." So does the used car salesman, or the real estate agent, the politician, the actor, not to mention the bankers and mortgage sellers.
This scam is as ancient as humanity. It is the basic scam, the underlying all pervasive scam. Trying to get something from your fellow humans with the least amount of effort. These channelers are parasites.
Now, it must be said that of late the ’aliens are going to land’ scenario has not been played too many times- perhaps the channeling fraternity took pity on their marks and decided not to indulge for a while. Blossom Goodchild obviously has no shame and decided to increase her profile and enhance her web statistics. But she’s canny, I’ll give her that- she knows that there is no such thing as bad publicity. She won’t disappear into obscurity with her tail between her legs, NO! She will become part of the ’greater circuit’ of channelers and other UFO hucksters and contactes and make a good living out of it - probably for quite some time to come.
I find it ironic, do you?, that these particular types are the ones who started the whole consciousness-shift is-coming stuff in the first place all the way back to people like Godfey Ray King, and the Theosophists who came after Blavatsky. Also ironic is that there always seemed to be a tendency to fascism in these ’experts’ of the unseen. Hitler thought there was a planetary evolution coming too remember.
Here’s a suggestion- whenever some idiot puts their head up and starts to tell us that they are in communication with unseen ones from on high we should all do our best to overload their servers with intelligent criticism.
